Friends, Family and Barbecues

When Amanda and Steve lived in North Carolina they met many wonderful people in their ward. The Porters were like surrogate parents and had them over for dinner several times a week and took great care of our kids while they were so far away from home. They had us over for dinner also when we visited the kids there. The Waxters moved their son Joey to BYU at the same time Amanda and Steve moved home and they caravaned across the US together. We had the great opportunity of having them stay with us while they got Joey settled into his apartment and got to know them better ourselves. We have all kept in some contact with each other and Amanda decided it was time to see them all again (especially since Joey and his wife are moving closer to NC since they just graduated from the Y) so Friday night we all got together for a barbecue. It's too bad we didn't get a picture of the cool 12' long picnic table Steve built.
